The Quake

A magnitude 7.9 earthquake hit Sichuan province on May 12. Thousands of hundreds of people died and almost all the buildings damaged in Sichuan and other near provinces. The earthquake took people’s life cruelly within few seconds. The unknown numbers of victims still trapped under the rubble of collapsed building waiting for rescue. Meanwhile 130,000 soldiers and about 100 helicopters were sent to comb the wreckage for survivors from China government. Also the minister of China appeared in person in the quake zone right after the earthquake. In addition, the rescue team and any other relief from other countries all rushed into China including raising funds.

The scene of the bodies of the victims lined up on the ground was scary. Most of them still remained underground. Digging the concrete falling wall with their bare hands, seeking their family members by calling their names drastically, the earthquake had brought away many lives in China left countless corpses only. The sound of wail, scream, crying, sobbing comprised of a sad symphony. The atmosphere there was gloomy. People all wore a sorrowful look. The grief of losing their loved ones would be the permanent wound of lifetime.


What can we do for the victims except donating money?


"No."


The answer might be too subjective and absolute but this is the way how it goes.The only thing we could do is to donate our money and pay great sympathy for them. If possible, then joining the relief group to rescue the people in China.


The disaster of nature is huge. We human beings cannot resist it. We should cooperate with each other and break down the boundary between countries and countries. Together give the help to the needed. Why there is no coincidence among different countries? How come the pursuit of interests becomes the main stream of the world? Benefit, glory blur the essence of being humankind……Where is the humanity?
